For some reason, nothing fills me with as much anxiety (when it comes to home decor) as finding living room decorating ideas that are going to work with our aesthetic. I guess maybe because it’s, like, the main room you know? It’s the public space where we’ll receive our guests (don’t I sound official) and basically is the most trafficked room of the house. It’s taken me a few months to figure out the best way to decorate our living room, but if you’re thinking it’s time for a revamp too, I gotchu.

I picked these 17 living room decorating ideas because they’re seemingly easy enough for even novice home decor nerds like myself can handle. Hopefully, they’ll help get your interior design juices flowing. See you at the hardware store!

Hey Holli! What I’ve usually done is drill screws right into my studs to support the weight of any large panels or paintings. We have a super heavy framed chalkboard in our guest room and I used a combination of wall anchors and screws directly into the studs. Hasn’t moved yet and it’s been there at least a year.
