The Beige House is an online blog written and edited by me, Megan Brame. Occasionally there will be posts written by others, mostly Dannica Gregorio. She’s great, give her stuff a shot!
The following is just to give you an idea of what content to expect and how I’m compensated for some of it.
Affiliate Referrals
Many of my posts include affiliate links for products I’ve either already purchased or can recommend. These links pay me a small commission that’s typically a percentage of any purchase you make after clicking the link for a certain amount of time, usually a week to 30 days. You receive no extra charge for these links; the commission is paid out by the business linked.
Other Forms of Compensation
In addition, I’ll occasionally post things that have been paid for by a company via sponsorship, free product, or some other form of advertising.
To maintain the integrity of this blog, I only work with brands that I think are either:
- Rocking it (i.e., developing really cool products or services that make me excited)
- Appropriate (i.e., something you would want to see as a reader of this blog)
- Are making something I would’ve used for free anyhow
- Some combination of the other points
If a sponsor is willing to provide me with free product, I’ll often work with them to give it away in addition to writing about it. I think this is a great way to get people interested in the product and help promote it while also providing valuable content. But again, only if I think it’s something you would want to see on my blog!
I will always disclose when something is sponsored or if I’m affiliated with any product/company/service.
My House, My Rules
This is my happy space and, while I’ll gladly take constructive criticism, I’m not interested in having unproductive comments kept up for posterity. If something you’ve written makes me feel bad, I’m not going to keep it up and reserve the right to do so. Having ADHD means I hyperfixate easily, so I have no intention of getting stuck on bad vibes.Â
