At times we feel like there’s no way we can rid of those unwanted smells inside our homes. But we’d say there are a few things you can use to help you breathe perfectly inside your home.
Get Rid of Unwanted Smell From Your Home
Wondering how to keep your home smelling fresh every day? Here is how you can get rid of the unwanted smells from your home:
Activated Carbon
Known also as activated charcoal, is one of the most sought-after natural ways to remove annoying odors. Activated carbon is your best option if you or any family member is allergic to strong fragrances, which can be used in varied ways.
Deodorizing refrigerators are the most common use of activated charcoal. Find a container to place a spoon or two of the activated carbon. Make sure to poke some holes in the lid to allow the charcoal to perform its purpose of deodorizing your refrigerator.
In the same way, you can place a larger amount of activated charcoal in a bigger container and place a few of these strategically inside your home. It can help remove bad odors from your pet’s waste, old shoes, or rooms.
Regular charcoal can also be used. You can wrap a few of them in a newspaper and place them inside your refrigerator. Likewise, you can place some in a box and choose locations in your home to position your box of charcoal.
Baking soda
Another natural odor eliminator is baking soda. This can be used the same way you use charcoal.
You can level up your baking soda deodorizer into an air freshener by simply adding a few drops of essential oils of your choice into the jar. Seal your container with a piece of fabric and a rubber band. Just like your activated charcoal, position your baking soda deodorizer or air freshener to where you need to eliminate unwanted smells.
What is great about baking soda is that you can also use it to deodorize your carpet. Initially vacuum your carpet to remove dirt before applying baking soda to it. Generously pour the baking soda on your carpet and leave it for a few hours. It is recommended to proceed with this deodorizing process in the absence of your children and pets. Vacuum your carpet to remove the baking soda and completely clean your rug.
Vinegar
Get rid of cigarette odor with white vinegar.
After that great party, we are pretty sure you would want to eliminate those odors, especially if you have kids and family members who are sensitive to the smell of cigarette smoke. Help them breathe easily with your bowls of vinegar.
Pour some white vinegar into a bowl and openly place it where the heavy smell is situated. Use a spray bottle to mist the fabrics of your upholstery and carpets to banish unwanted cigarette odor.
Coffee grounds
If you love coffee, wake up to a great morning with the smell of your favorite drink in its solid state. Coffee grounds will not only fill your room with their strong aroma, but it also deodorizes the air. Throw some of your unused coffee grounds inside a clean and beautifully designed sock and hang it near your windows, doors, or air conditioning units.
